Dressing: Women, Feminism and Equity

Image
Photos by Getty Images Dressing is a very important phenomenon in human society. It is determined by the Person itself, the locality, the place one is going to, the circle of people in a gathering. Hence, it depends that we dress to suit every location or occasion. A good example is dressing to farm, church, a job interview or meeting friends. It demands certain level of intention for the location and circle of persons. Feminism is simply giving equal rights and opportunities to women as was given to men, with a stop to toxic masculinity. My take on Feminism is that the issue is not equality but Equity. Equality see two persons equal in everything. For example, men and women are humans and thus should be treated equally. But the question to ask is: A. Is feminism saying give equal opportunities to women to be equal with men because they are humans or  B. Does Feminism mean to give more opportunities to women because they are humans but biologically different...

DIRECTORS IN THE OLD (2004) AND NEW CAMA (2020). THE MEANING, TYPES, APPOINTMENT, DUTIES ( DUTY OF CARE, SKILL AND NEGLIGENCE AND BREACH OF DUTIES.

INTRODUCTION Nigeria is a sovereign state, and as such has the authority to make and enforce  laws within its defined territory. On this note, the government makes laws to regulated  actions, properties and activities with the territory of Nigeria, through the legislative arm  of government, (they are saddled with the responsibility to make laws). 1 The company and allied matters Act is enacted to establish the Corporate Affairs  Commission, provide for the incorporation of Companies and Incidental Matters,  registration of business names and the incorporation of trustees of certain committees,  bodies and Association in 1990. The Companies and Allied Matters Act (Chapter C20)  Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 ("CAMA 1990") was initially made law in  Nigeria in 1990 as a decree of the military government. It was modelled on the English  Companies Act 1985. For thirty years, there were no significant amendments to the  CAMA 19...

is marriage really a fulfilment for all Women?

Image
I once read a post of how a retired lecturer gave a departing advise to her students. In summary, she said that as a good Academian, she had enjoyed fame, wealth, travels, respects and many more. She added that all she enjoyed have been forgotten by her as she guaged her lonely life without having a home or children. Hence she advised that the best and fulfilling purpose for every woman is to get married and build a home. What then do I have to say about the post? Well, great writeup and Advise. At least, she feels marriage would give her fulfillment. It is great to know someone gave birth to me and all. The question that remains is about family or no family, it where we see our very own selves, and accept ourselves to be part of. It could be curiosity, business, marriage and just anything. We just need acceptance and Satisfaction in whatsoever we want to do. This is because the old woman who died hungry and alone in the village had children and built a home. In order to bu...

Adriano's Wisdom

Image
My comment on the writeup of Phil, which is an interview of Adriano at: https://www.aschoolfortomorrow.community/posts/striving-to-be-remarkable I think the point that corrects me in this writeup is point 2. "remarkable leadership requires you to seek it out and listen to understand, not listen to respond. Great learning often occurs in this struggle. Reflection is a process of examining and interpreting experience to gain new understandings and growth. Take time to always reflect, affirm and remember to be gentle with yourself." At most times, I have feared people's feedbacks because I think it would break me and make me take longer time to heal. So, I try getting feedback other ways. Either ways, some things still has to break us as humans, and we still get to heal to be stronger. I reflect on myself, but I have not seen myself gentle or treated me with gentleness. Why? Because I feel 'if the world will never be gentle, why should I harbour such bel...

THE COUNSELLED SPOUSE.

Lisa and Mike have 2 girls and two boys. They feel it is the responsibilities of the girls to take care of the home like waking up early, sweep amd tidy up all the personal rooms, store room and kitchen, cook three times  a day for the family, wash the plates, wash clothes and every other house chores. While the boys have to "try to" wakeup and then do whatever they want through out the day. Amaka and chioma, (Lisa and mike's daughters) have complained several times, of how their brothers would: "Not lift a finger to even tidy or arrange their clothes"; "Not clean their rooms"; "Not wash a heap of their dirty clothes"; "Not return the plates they eat with, but stack them up on a table in their rooms like a major waste hill"; " They do not wash their plates after eating, hence, no plates returned or washed to be used in serving them food again, they cannot as much as flush the toilet"; "Keep their shoes wel...

The Woman or The Man

Image
The woman should learn how to be a good wife, She should learn how to care for: -the husband; -the children; -the in-laws; -the future; -the loses; -the pains; -the rejections; -the compromise; -the betrayal; BECAUSE THE MAN OR WOMAN IS WHAT??? The truth is, male and female should both invest and compromise in their relationships. Marriage should be about companionship rather than dominion. Marriage should be about two humans with equal Consent,  Rights, Responsibilities, honour etc. Therefore, Marriage should be a ground where bigger ideas are birthed, why? Because two great minds just came together to rub minds and not the other way round. Whether it is the man or the woman, we are have all blood flowing through our veins, We all have brains, We all have Gonads, We all can be hurt, We all can be vulnerable, We all want to be loved and accepted. Then if I may ask: why then do we treat others irritably less than others? Why the we force the man not to cry out his pain a...
