Protect the boy Child

I cannot emphasize this enough. You see, research shows that 70% of the sexually abused before the age of 18years are boys. There is the society's idea of toxic masculinity that claims 'boys are meant to enjoy sex' 'boys/men don't cry' and 'boys are not meant to complain'. 

I want to say that, where it is very true that 3 in every 10 ladies have been raped and sexually harassed, and women are not so biologically protected as the males and thus suffer more from these occurrences, I still wish we protect the males like we protect the females. 

Just like you groom the women to be expressive, good mothers, wives and sisters, please groom our boys to be expressive, good fathers, husbands and brothers.

Who are we deceiving?

We groom the women to face these men who have been left to fend for themselves emotionally and socially, and think these women will never get the results from the experiences of these men?

Okay, this morning, little john of 12 years old got brutally raped my his neighbour (Uncle john as they all call him).

He was raped through the Anus. That even with the Adult sanitary pad the doctors wore him, the hospital bed is still very socked with his blood.

Little john is in serious pain, he will suffer  medically and emotionally, still the society would demand that he shows no pain, he cries not and he should be expected to be a man.

Abeg o, is a man not a human being?

Abeg o, does a man not have emotions?

Abeg o, does a man not have a right to live an expressive life void of too much drama?

Abeg,  what about little kunle who was raped by Aunty Ify and his friends asked if he did not enjoy it and he should let them hear word.

Abe! Na beg I dey beg.

If we want make everywhere good for us women, make we also train and protect our boys too. Na only like this we fit protect the society along with everybody to get Peace.
