THE WARRIOR QUEEN

So, Aunty Mary has been complaining about how I keep the lights on till morning while sleeping. When using a meter, you tend to value every unit of light you are using, as it is not the general estimate that was previously used, which allows for excess. And it got me wondering how I will explain the lights on to her. In fact, how do I get to tell her these things or should I put it this way?

So, I am not a Trophy woman. So most of the time you find the lights on, it means I am up working.

Cambridge Dictionary Defines a Trophy Wife as "a young attractive woman who marries an older Man that is rich and success for the comfort and security he can offer her". The idea behind it is that, the man is too old for such a young and beautiful woman but since he could afford to provide for what she needs (comfort and security), he gets her as a Trophy.

Personally, I see a Trophy Woman as one who does not like getting her hands dirty. She marries or befriends people who do the work and then, provide her with the necessary comfort and security, while she in turns, makes them happy by making sure the home is coordinated well under her instructions, that the home and everyone else radiates the peace, comfort and security she receives or feels. Also, a sign to knowing all is well, is the warm signature smiles she dishes out. So when the warm smile and the peace is gone. Mbon! (People!) things it have spoilt o!!

So, I have really tried to become and be satisfied in being a Trophy Woman, but (Nkarake, I couldn’t); I just do not seem to do it right. I think it’s a gift to actually give your trust to someone, that someone is capable of knowing, searching for and giving you the particular ‘all’ you need to be happy. I mean, I can afford to partly trust but not totally. So, I have decided to call myself a Warrior Woman or Queen, while the other I am not, is the Trophy Queen aka Trophy Woman.

See ehn, I am that human who does not need a status to fulfil an office, I like having things peacefully organised, the way I feel it right to. You may ask why right? Here lies the answer; 

So my dad told me, “Ethel, It is good to do a good thing rather than waste time doing the wrong things. You see, it is better to be late doing the right things, than to be delayed by the wrong thing. So Madam, coconut wey feel say him no need water, him no go bend head make them fill am with water”.

All my dad was saying can be interpreted as: “I should always see the need to ask questions and  always try to do what is right wherever I find myself, because in asking questions before acting, I can acquire the experience and wisdom of others.”            So, even when I feel like slacking off a little, my father’s voice will keep ringing in my head.  It does not only happen with my father’s voice. I also get reminded of great advice people give to me and they guide me as voices of reasoning. So back to the Warrior and Trophy gist.

Just as advised by daddy, I always try to ask questions, try to give my best and inprove my best as the situations calls for. Thus, as a Warrior Queen or Woman (WQ or WW, abi WWE…laughs), I believe in getting my hands dirty with the farm work. This is because I know how best to satisfy me, how best I got the inspiration or how best I got that idea. Yes, I ask lots of questions, I fail, I restrategise and go back again. 

So, when I see the need for things to be done, I go all out to achieve my goal and purpose. Therefore, when I achieve these goals and purposes, I am happy and fulfilled with myself, however small it is. 

For a Trophy Queen or Woman (TQ or TW), She is  more of a woman who runs the house in wait for the warrior husband to fight and bring back the spoils, while she keeps the inner harem of the Kingdom safe by coordinating people to do all the good job from within.        

  

As for a Warrior Queen (WQ), she thinks or acts both like a woman and a warrior. She puts people in place to coordinate, may not be very skilled with managing people’s emotions like the Trophy Queen, but she will pick out quality people who can work well, place them in the affairs of things while she guards the back gate to the kingdom with her army to wade off the enemies.

And dear aunty, both types of women are good and unique in their own ways. They are badly needed for any kingdom, man or people as it is required. Therefore, the fact that a woman is either a Warrior Queen or a Trophy Queen does not mean any less of a woman or human. It certainly means, that whatsoever she lacks, nature naturally makes up for it with another quality which is to a large extent capable of filling the required vacuum. But, all humans needs to know their strength and weakness, so as to know what, when and where to develop, so as to fill the vacuum.

So dear lovely aunt, I do not keep the light on because I want to waste the lights or that I forgot to put it off or because I probably love to sleep with the lights on. 

Aunty, 99% of the time the lights are on, I am working and so, must be using the light. Moreso, I most times work till morning, and still go on with my daily chores as though I also slept at night. I know it sounds bad, but I know how to regulate myself.
